Tips from experience

  • Do not pay agents. The embassy states it works with no agents or commercial visa agencies and the only cost is the visa fee.
  • Register on e-Konsulat carefully, because changing the purpose or key details afterwards leads to rejection.
  • Bring cash in euro for the fee, since no other payment method is accepted.
  • Ask your university about refund terms before paying tuition, because refunds after a refusal are settled between you and the university.
  • Keep your receipt safe, as it shows your collection date.

While you study

Check the current rules with your university and the voivodeship office before working. This guide has not verified a work-hours limit for students from an official Polish source.

After your course

Rules for staying after graduation depend on a residence permit issued in Poland, and this guide has not verified them. Check the Office for Foreigners (UDSC) and your voivodeship office for the current options.

Work and post study rules change often. Confirm them on the official source before you plan around them.

Common reasons for refusal

  • Insurance did not meet the EUR 30,000 and repatriation conditions.
  • Registration details on e-Konsulat did not match the documents.
  • Documents were scans or photos rather than originals.
  • Accommodation proof was missing or did not cover the visa period.
  • The consul doubted the purpose of the stay.
