Flight route and fare simulator

Pick where you fly from and to. See the distance, the likely routings through common hubs, how long the trip takes and an indicative fare range for your cabin, month and passengers.

Step 1 of 4: From and to

Where are you flying?

Type a city, airport name or three letter code, then choose from the list.

Estimated so far

Choose two airports and a fare range appears here.

Indicative only. Nothing you enter here is saved or sent.

How it works

  1. Choose two airports

Search by city, airport name or code. We start you at the main airport of your country.

  2. Set your trip

Choose one way or return, cabin, the month you leave, when you book, who travels and any extra bags.

  3. Read the result

See the distance, the routings on a map, the flying time, the fare breakdown in USD and your currency, and the CO2 per passenger.

Questions people ask

Is this a real airline price?

No. It is an estimate from a simple model that uses distance, cabin, season, booking time and passengers. It does not read live fares, and real prices change daily. Check the airline or a booking site before you buy.

Does it show which airlines fly my route?

No. It shows plausible routings through common hubs, ranked by distance. A hub is a busy airport where many airlines connect. Schedules change, so confirm that a route is flown before you plan around it.

How is the distance worked out?

With the haversine formula, which gives the great circle distance between the two airports: the shortest line over the Earth's surface. Aircraft usually fly a little further to follow airways and avoid weather.

How is the flying time estimated?

We allow 35 minutes for taxi, climb and descent, then divide the distance by a cruise speed of 840 km/h. One stop routings add a typical 2 hour connection. Winds and air traffic can move a long flight by 30 to 60 minutes.

Which months cost more?

The model treats July, August and December as peak months, when many families and students travel. Booking three months or more ahead is assumed cheaper than booking in the last month. Both settings can differ in real life.

Where do the airport and CO2 figures come from?

Airport positions come from OurAirports public domain data. Emissions use the UK government greenhouse gas conversion factors for 2026, per passenger kilometre, including the effect of emissions at altitude. Your flight may differ by aircraft and how full it is.

Why is my airport missing?

The tool covers about 200 major airports, the main airport of every African country and the cities most students and migrants fly to. If yours is missing, choose the nearest one or ask an adviser to price the trip.
