What it pays

EUR 7,500 per academic year for two years, paid in monthly instalments. About 35 awards: 20 for EEA students and 15 for non-EEA students.

Fields: electrical engineering, applied physics, mechanical engineering, computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence

Who can apply

Open to most nationalities

  • Applied to a full-time eligible TU/e master's programme or track starting 1 September 2027
  • Non-Dutch high school diploma or bachelor's degree, and no completed higher education in the Netherlands (exchange is fine)
  • GPA of at least 7.5 out of 10 on your latest transcript
  • Meets the programme's admission requirements and Dutch visa and residence permit requirements
  • Not applying to the JADS joint master's or a European Double Degree programme

Deadline

1 January 2027, 23:59 CET, for a September 2027 start. Results are confirmed by the end of March 2027.

Deadlines move a little every year and some close early. Confirm the date on the official page before you plan around it.

Documents you will need

  • Complete TU/e master's application
  • Latest grade transcript
  • Short motivation for the scholarship inside your application
  • Other documents required by your programme's admission

  1. Step 1: Choose an eligible programme

Pick one of the listed MSc programmes or tracks in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mathematics and Computer Science.
  2. Step 2: Submit a complete application

Send your full master's application by 1 January 2027, 23:59 CET.
  3. Step 3: Request consideration

State in your application that you want to be considered for the scholarship and add a brief motivation.
  4. Step 4: Sign the agreement

If selected by the end of March 2027, sign the scholarship agreement; decisions cannot be appealed.

Conditions if you accept

  • Second-year funding requires at least 45 ECTS in the first year
  • Expected to graduate within 36 months
  • Cannot be deferred or moved to programmes outside the eligible departments
  • Non-EEA students must still prove sufficient funds for the visa and pay the rest of tuition

Tips for a stronger application

  • Only about 2 percent of applicants receive it and only 15 places go to non-EEA students, so treat it as a top-up, not your main funding.
  • Convert your grades carefully: TU/e checks a 7.5 out of 10 GPA on your latest transcript.
  • TU/e also lists four Changemaker Scholarships through the TSH Talent Foundation with housing support and the same deadline.
  • Older websites mention a TU/e Talent Scholarship; the current TU/e funding page lists only this Scholarship for Excellence.
