Deadlines move a little every year and some close early. Confirm the date on the official page before you plan around it.

Documents you will need

  • Passport biodata page
  • Certified transcripts, degree certificates and grading scale explanation
  • English language proficiency evidence
  • Research proposal
  • Academic CV of at most two pages
  • Contact details of at least two referees

How to apply, step by step

  1. Step 1: Contact a supervisor

Most faculties expect you to have identified and contacted a potential supervisor before applying.
  2. Step 2: Prepare your documents

Gather certified transcripts, a research proposal, a two-page academic CV and referee details.
  3. Step 3: Apply in myApp

Submit your course application in the Monash myApp portal within an international round; you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships.
  4. Step 4: Await scholarship results

Conditions if you accept

  • Governed by Monash graduate research scholarship policy and procedures
  • Only one application per scholarship round
  • Round dates apply to Australian campuses only

Tips for a stronger application

  • Note the earlier 28 February 2027 closing date; do not rely on older pages that say 31 March
  • Research outputs count heavily, so list any publications, conference talks or thesis work clearly
  • A tuition scholarship without a stipend is not enough to live in Melbourne; check that your offer includes both
